The Clean Energy Regulator is the government body responsible for administering legislation that will reduce carbon emissions and increase the use of clean energy.

We administer schemes legislated by the Australian Government for measuring, managing, reducing or offsetting Australia's carbon emissions. Our role is determined by climate change law. We have administrative responsibilities for the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting scheme, Emissions Reduction Fund, Renewable Energy Target and Australian National Registry of Emissions Units.
