About the Clean Energy Regulator

The Clean Energy Regulator is the government body responsible for administering legislation that will reduce carbon emissions and increase the use of clean energy.

The Clean Energy Regulator administers the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting scheme, the Carbon Pricing Mechanism, the Carbon Farming Initiative and the Renewable Energy Target (including the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target and Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme).

The Clean Energy Regulator works with a number of clients and stakeholders including Australian Government departments and agencies, industry bodies, liable entities and the community to deliver regulatory services of the highest standard.​​​​​​​​
