Welcome to the REC Registry

Error: Please check and correct the following issues before continuing:

The REC Registry is an online system that:

  • facilitates the creation, registration, transfer and surrender of large-scale generation certificates (LGCs) and small-scale technology certificates (STCs)
  • tracks the ownership and status of all certificates
  • provides access to the STC clearing house, and
  • maintains various public registers as required by the Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000 (the REE Act).

All certificates must be created in the REC Registry before they can be bought, sold traded or surrendered.

You must hold an account and be registered as a REC Registry user to create, view or transfer certificates. If you do not have an account and would like to apply for one, click on the 'Apply for an account' tab above.

REC Registry issue impacting power station users

The REC Registry is currently experiencing technical issues that prevent nominated persons from adding ‘notes’ when entering monthly generation data, or responding to a request for further information, in support of claims for large-scale generation certificates (LGCs).  A fix is being developed and is scheduled for deployment on 19/06/2019.

In the interim, affected users should email any additional information concerning their monthly LGC claims to CER-RET-LGCValidation@cleanenergyregulator.gov.au.  Please note, this issue does not prevent users from entering generation data, allocating LGCs to fuel sources, uploading supporting documents, or creating LGCs and submitting a claim.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

For more information about certificates, the Large-scale Renewable Energy Target or the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme see the Clean Energy Regulator website.
